Nancy Moyer, a retired firefighter and paramedic, fought bravely against cancer that was occupationally related. The Dennis Fire Department announces her passing with deep sorrow. We will never forget Nancy’s bravery and the impact she had on our department and neighborhood. Her passing will be profoundly felt by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
By becoming one of the first female Cape and Island firefighter/paramedics, Nancy paved the way for many others to follow. From the moment she was hired full-time on July 1, 1986, until the end of her distinguished career, her dedication to public service shone through.
Nancy exemplified the honor, bravery, and selflessness that are hallmarks of the firefighting profession throughout her 34 years of dedicated service to the Town of Dennis. She had a long history of dedicated service to the community, having worked as a call firefighter for the Brewster Fire Department before joining the Dennis Fire Department.
Nancy gained the esteem and gratitude of her peers and the people she assisted while serving with the Dennis Fire Department. She made substantial contributions to our town throughout her tenure. Everyone who was fortunate enough to work with her will always remember and appreciate her legacy of service.
The family humbly asks for privacy at this difficult time as they mourn the passing of Nancy. Friends, coworkers, and members of the community will have the chance to pay their respects and celebrate Nancy’s memory when details about the arrangements are shared.
In this time of loss, let us remember and honor Nancy Moyer for the life she lived and the impact she left behind. We will all be inspired by her unfaltering bravery, compassionate nature, and devotion to duty. We will never forget her service or sacrifice, and we pray that she may rest in peace.
