We announce the sudden death of one of our valued team members, evidence technician Brie Jorgenson, with great sadness. There is an unfillable hole in our hearts left by Brie’s departure.
Beyond her career as an evidence technician, Brie was also a loving wife to her husband Chris, a mother to her four-year-old son Carter, and a pillar of support for her family. She was a treasured confidante and an ardent Disney fan to her friends. Brie was highly regarded by our employees and frequently mentioned as a favorite team member to work with.
Brie worked hard for 11.5 years as a dispatcher for the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office before coming to our department in 2020. She pursued her lifelong dream of becoming an evidence technician because she was passionate about law enforcement, and she was an excellent evidence technician.
As part of her duties, Brie investigated crime scenes for significant incidents and deadly car crashes, demonstrating her devotion to her community’s needs.
Tragically, Brie was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer not long after being promoted to evidence technician. Her brave fight and unwavering determination did not stop the cancer from spreading and causing serious complications.
Despite her unwavering bravery in the face of this formidable challenge, Brie’s illness proved too much to overcome, and after battling in the ICU, she passed away last night.
Our department is affected deeply by Brie’s absence, which serves as a constant reminder of the impact she had on everyone who knew her. Her memory will always be ingrained in our hearts, and we are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have had her in our lives.
We send our sincerest sympathies to Brie’s family and loved ones during this unbearable loss. During this trying time, may they find comfort in the treasured memories of Brie’s love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
