David Squires Obituary, Whitby, Redcar Cleveland, Beloved David Squires (Squirrel) sadly passed away

Our dear friend David Squires, fondly known as Squirrel, passed away on March 27th. We are saddened to hear of his passing. The lack of a traditional funeral or wake is in keeping with his desires for an uncomplicated and celebratory service.

Alternatively, on April 15th, beginning at 11 a.m., all of Dave’s friends are invited to a memorial service at Whitby’s Middle Earth Tavern to celebrate his life. Come join us for a joyous celebration of his life, a time to remember him, tell stories, and take solace in one another’s presence. Everyone is welcome and appreciated here, whether they knew Dave well or not.

Those who are unable to be there in person are still welcome to join us in toasting Dave from wherever you may be. Raise a glass to all the fun times, exciting adventures, and memories we had with him. Dave was full of life and personality, so we think it would be fitting for guests to dress in a way that reflects that.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to the hardworking staff at James Cook Hospital who were there for Dave when he needed them. By making a donation in his honor, you will be able to see to it that his legacy of generosity and compassion lives on.

As we gather here to honor David Squires’s life, may we also honor his memory by continuing to spread joy, friendship, and laughter. Even though he is physically gone, we carry his legacy with us wherever we go and let it inspire and direct us. I pray that this gathering will serve as a memorial to the life he touched and a symbol of the timeless friendships that unite us all.
