John Hickinbotham, who had volunteered with us yesterday, died away last night while sleeping, and we are very sorry to hear this news. For a long time, John volunteered at many places, including the King Richard III Visitor Centre, St. Mary De Castro Church, and Leicester Cathedral.
We will all miss this incredible man who overcame so much to volunteer with us. He was engaging and patient as he told the complex tale of Richard III’s life, death, and discovery to our guests. Many of our guests have praised his performance and mentioned him in glowing reviews of the King Richard III Visitor Centre.
John Hickinbotham was well-known for his unflinching generosity and his readiness to assist anyone who was in need of assistance throughout his life. Because he was a devoted volunteer at the neighborhood soup kitchen, he was able to make a difference in the lives of a great number of people who were battling with hunger and homelessness. For more than four decades, Alfred was a devoted worker at the neighborhood hardware shop. In addition to his roles as a devoted husband and father, he was also someone who worked there.
