Earlier today, the Collinstown Pitch & Putt Club learned of the passing of Anne Kelly, a longtime and devoted member of the club. Anne joined the club over 30 years ago and has been actively involved ever since.

We will all remember her for her hard work on the committee and her enthusiastic participation in the sport she loved. Anne was very successful in the sport. In 1994, she achieved her crowning achievement at the Leinster Ladies Junior Strokeplay tournament at Ierne.

Also, at the 2001 Glenville National Ladies Intermediate Strokeplay Championship, she finished in second place. Also, at the 2010 Leinster Ladies Intermediate Strokeplay championship at R.G.S.C., she finished in third place. Three Westmeath Inter-County teams that Anne was a part of won bronze medals.

There was one national team and two Leinster teams among these. Whether competing at the club or county level, she was a consistent winner. Our deepest sympathies are with her husband Jim and their family during this difficult time. The Collinstown Pitch and Putt Club is here to support you. Anne, may you find everlasting peace.

This Sunday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m., Mullens Funeral Home, Athboy, (C15 WK58), will be open for visitation. Her residence was removed on Monday morning, and she was buried in St. Dymphna’s Cemetery, Kildalkey, after arriving at St. James’ Church, Athboy, for the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Just family flowers.
