Tom Godley, An Honorary President of Offaly Athletics passed away 29 of march, 2024. Tom Godley was a beloved member of the Birr Athletic Club community, and his passing has left us all grieving. Tom was a devoted club member and a highly respected figure in the wider athletics community; his death has emptied our hearts of his presence. In his role as Honorary President of Offaly Athletics, Tom displayed an unmatched dedication to the sport.

The athletic landscape in Offaly will never be the same because of his relentless efforts to promote athletics, especially at the school level. Athletics in our area owe a great debt of gratitude to Tom, whose contagious enthusiasm and love of the game were instrumental in its development and growth.
