Former Wilberforce University and Ohio State Basketball Coach Mark Mitchell  who was also the father of Kelsey Mitchell has sadly passed away. He died leaving family, friends and colleagues heartbroken. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that says “Devastated to hear of the passing of former assistant coach, Mark Mitchell.

Sending our thoughts and prayers to his family today and in the future”. The actual cause of Mark Mitchell’s death has not been made public at the time this report was made

Following a total of four seasons with the squad, Mark Mitchell, who had previously served as the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio, was no longer with the organization. Immediately after the conclusion of the most recent season, this decision was put into action. Mitchell’s coaching platform during this time period was Wilberforce University, which is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
