Wesley Costa De Moraes Obituary, New York, Cherished Professor At SUNY Geneseo Has Died, Community Mourns

Almost immediately after the departure of the deceased, a friend who was crying made the following statement: “I know I speak for my friends, peers, and professors at SUNY Geneseo when I say how deeply saddened we all are by the loss of our Profe Wesley Costa de Moraes.” These words were spoken by the friend.

The day before, I was telling other people that I am certain that his Spanish lessons will perpetually make me feel better. I am certain in this statement. I am aware of this since I have personally felt the effects of them. As a result of hearing the news of his passing, I am not only completely and utterly heartbroken, but it would be an understatement to say that I am completely and utterly grieved.

I consider it an incredible privilege that I was able to get knowledge from him for a total of three semesters. I consider this to be an incredible honor. When it comes to his students, he possessed an extraordinary level of compassion, real concern, and genuine attentiveness. It is impossible to overestimate the magnitude of these qualities.

Even while this is the case, there is still a portion of me that is clinging to the notion that I will be able to enter his classroom tomorrow morning and find him there to instruct us.

The fact that I will not be able to continue to maintain our relationship is something that I greatly regret, despite the fact that I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to get to know him. There are undoubtedly a great number of others who have the same feelings as you would.
