After completing his education at Springhill High School, Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from Louisiana Tech University, where he also pursued a minor in Zoology. Subsequently, he successfully completed his studies at Louisiana Tech University and obtained his degree.

Subsequently, he completed his Urological Residency at the LSU Medical Centre in Shreveport, following his graduation from Louisiana State University Shreveport, where he had previously obtained his Medical Doctorate degree. He began his career as a licenced urologist at the Green Clinic of Ruston, where he has been practicing for almost 35 years.

Undoubtedly, he had a strong affinity for the outdoors, as seen by his expertise in scuba diving, bass fishing, and duck hunting. However, when he was not at the duck camp or fishing on the shores of Lake Erling in Arkansas, his second preferred place was his home. There, he would have a dog resting on his lap, Donna sitting in the adjacent chair, and he would be watching the Texas Rangers triumph on television. Bill was a devoted family man, and his greatest source of joy was the opportunity to spend quality time with his family as much as possible.

Lilly and Layla, his twin granddaughters, were his favourite people, and he took great pleasure in sharing their achievements with anybody, regardless of their identity. He had two children, Holly and Heather, with his wife Donna, whom he had been married to for an impressive 41 years until their marriage collapsed.

During his tenure as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Ruston, Bill also took part in two medical mission trips. Although he was a dedicated and exemplary servant to our divine Father, he consistently and fearlessly propagated his religious beliefs to people in his vicinity. He shown unwavering commitment to the Lord and effectively fulfilled his duties in serving Him. Bill Tanner has left behind a lasting legacy characterised by compassion, integrity, generosity, and dedication. His family, together with the numerous patients who sought his care at Green Clinic, will continue to uphold this legacy.

We extend our gratitude to David Osafo for his considerate and meticulous attention. We are deeply appreciative of the immense love and prayers that our church community has expressed towards us during this journey and in the past. We all desire to convey our appreciation to our Divine Father for consistently safeguarding Bill and our family.
