The 11th of May, 1960 saw the arrival of Delbie Klemme, the son of Eldon and Doris (Roe) Klemme. A cool Busch Light, trail rides, a good game of euchre, side-by-side rides, and spending time outside were some of his favorite things since he appreciated them all. Farming, having fun, and maintaining a long-term commitment to his family and friends were the defining characteristics of Delbert’s life. His absence will be deeply felt by everyone.
His siblings, Peggy (Marty) Mancebo, Keith (Diane) Klemme, Nancy (Chuck) Bentley, and Dennis (Shelia) Klemme, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews, are among those who have survived him. The following people passed away before Delbie: his parents, his sister Karol Mootz, his brother Steve Klemme, his nephews Troy and Dustin Klemme, and his niece Joy Kaiser.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care that was provided by the Jackson County Regional Health Center, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and Hospice of Jackson County while the patient was receiving treatment.
We will be eternally grateful to Craig “Volgie” Volquardsen, Delbie’s lifetime friend, for the dedication he has shown throughout his life. Todd Mangler, Jeff Gerlach, Doug Smithson, Bruce Weis, Virgil Kilburg, and Ricky Cunningham have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers in memory of Delbie. These men have been honored for their contributions to the community.
