In the midst of a brief struggle against cancer, Daniel went away in the comfort of his own home. His devoted wife Barbara (Deakins), his sons Paul and Christopher (Bridget), and his grandkids Mikayla and Ariel, as well as his brother Stephen (Judy), are among those who are left behind after his unexpected passing. His brothers-in-law Gary Prine (Brenda) and Wayne Prine, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and relatives, will miss him after his passing.
Both of his parents, Joseph Heeley and Patricia Heeley (Hughes), originally from Cambridge, passed away before he was born. Dan was a talented artist who had a deep appreciation for the natural world and could find beauty in every corner of his environment. During his earlier years, he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed spending time outside in all four seasons, whether it was golfing, hunting, fishing, boating, or simply going on a walk and taking in the sights with his eyes.
The challenge of crossword puzzles was something he enjoyed, and he also enjoyed spending time with his best friend on a weekly basis playing cribbage. Since Danny was six years old, he has been living with his mother. There is a widespread consensus among us that they looked out for one another. Walking, gardening, hockey, darts, and crossword puzzles were some of his favorite things to do when he was at home. Then, he made the decision to return to school and eventually earned a degree in Heavy Equipment Operator.
His death occurred when he was working and residing in Fort McMurray at the time of his passing. Danny placed a high priority on his relationships with his family, particularly with his nieces and nephews. Everyone is going to miss him very profoundly. As we join together to say our final goodbyes to Daniel, let us remember the laughter he brought, the wisdom he shared, and the love he bestowed onto all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Let us also remember the love he bestowed upon us.
Although his bodily presence is no longer with us, his soul will continue to be with us in the form of the many lives that he touched and the memories that he produced. This will remain the case even if he is no longer physically here. At this time of grief, may the thought that Daniel’s legacy of love and generosity will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through the darkness and reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived, bring us comfort.
May this idea bring us solace. May the knowledge that we have bring us comfort. Daniel Heeley, I hope that you arrive at a place of rest. Your presence will be terribly missed, but we will always hold dear the memories of you. We will cherish it for the rest of our lives.
