Averett University has made the sad announcement that Dr. David Hanbury, an Associate Professor who had been missing, has passed away. This is a terrible update regarding the demise of Dr. David Hanbury, and it is with a heavy heart that we share it with you.
Everyone in the Averett community would want to express their sympathies and offer their prayers of support to Dr. Hanbury’s family, friends, and anybody else whose life he touched in a way that will be remembered for a long time.
More over eight years ago, according to the institution, Dr. Hanbury became a member of the Averett college faculty. He is the chair of the Division of Physical and Psychological Health Sciences in addition to being an associate professor and co-chair of the Psychology Department.
He also serves as the chair of the department. Dr. David Hanbury, a respected member of our faculty, has been registered as missing by the Orlando Police Department, and the Averett University Family has been informed of this development.
During his attendance at the Southeastern Psychological Association Conference on Friday, March 15, he made his most recent observation, which took place in the late afternoon of that day. At this exact moment, there are efforts being made to explore the issues that are being questioned simultaneously.
A faculty member of Averett University, Dr. Hanbury has been there for more than eight years. Additionally, he serves as an assistant professor at his current position, in addition to being the chair of the psychology department. Furthermore, he is the administrator of the Department of Mental and Physical Health Sciences at the university.
We are keeping Dr. Hanbury’s family and friends in our thoughts as they make preparations for his safe return before he goes home. In addition to this, we are collaborating directly with our counterparts in law enforcement in order to offer assistance in any way that we can think of.
The Averett Student Centre, located at 351 Townes Street, will be the location of a prayer and support meeting that will take place on Monday, March 18th, at 6 o’clock in the evening. This gathering will be organized by Averett University. Everyone who is a part of the institution or the community in the surrounding area is welcome to attend the event.
