This morning, my dearest friend Gavin Williams, who operated a lawnmowing service called Gaw, passed away. It is with a tremendous deal of regret that I share this news. I shall never forget you, Gavin; rest in peace. It’s Gavin.
On Thursday, December 19, 2019, at the age of 58, Gene Williams, who was born in Casper, Wyoming on September 20, 1961, and who resided in Springfield, Tennessee, went to be with our Heavenly Father. From a young age, Gavin developed a deep appreciation for the natural world.
After purchasing his first dirt bike, he quickly became a passionate rider who cherished the independence of riding on the farm and on open roads. While he was still a little lad, he shared his love of riding with his sisters. Later on, he also shared his passion with his true love, Kathie, as well as his many brothers, Mitch Orr, Wes Compton, Jim Hunt, and Gary Morris, who passed away. Serving others in any way he could was something that Gavin took great pleasure in doing, and he never asked for anything in return.
Initially when I was a young person, and then later when I was a missionary in Norway for a period of two years. Additionally, he was active in the Boy Scouts, where he served as the Scout Master for a number of years. Along with his two sons, he embarked on this expedition. After completing his studies at Rick’s College, he went on to pursue his education at DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and, later, a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, both of which were in the field of Electronics Engineering Technology.
Prior to continuing his successful career as an Electronics Engineer, Gavin worked as a farmer and a logger. This was due to the fact that he had a strong affinity for the natural environment.
In 1989, while Gavin Gene Williams was living in California, he became acquainted with Katherine “Kathie” Martinez and his future daughter, Jenni. In January of 1990, Gavin tied the knot with his big sweetheart and his little sweetie. In April of the same year, they welcomed their first son, Joseph, who was also their brother.
In December of 1991, Jenni legally adopted her father, Gavin. Following the relocation of his family to North Carolina in 1992, they became parents to a son named Justin in December 1993 and a daughter named Jasmine in September 1995. It was in the year 2007 when they established their residence in Springfield, Tennessee, along with his family. Almost immediately after that, Gavin entered the workforce at Electrolux, where he worked as a Senior Hardware Engineer until his passing not too long ago.
Throughout his life, Gavin was a guy who devoted himself to providing for his family. First and foremost, his wife, children, and grandchildren were his only concern, and he cherished each and every precious moment that he was able to spend with them.
