Hilary Jones Obituary, Death, Melton Mowbray, Reflecting On The Life And Legacy Of Hilary Jones

Following a valiant fight, Hilary Jones, Jr. passed away on February 22, 2016, at the age of 36, at Parkland Medical in Dallas, Texas. He had been battling cancer for four years. The union of Hilary Jones and Diane Jones, Sr. resulted in the birth of two children: Hilary Jones Jr. on February 10, 1980.

After graduating from Glen Oaks High School, he went on to study at Southern University and A&M College, where he participated in both the football and track and field teams with the respective schools.

Not only did Hill work at The Advocate and BREC, but it was there that he met Candace Brown, who would later become his wife. After leaving high school, he went on to earn a Technical Diploma in Drafting and Design Technology from Capital Area Technical College, where he had previously studied.

On February 16, 2013, Hill and Candace Brown were joined together in holy marriage during a ceremony that captured the audience’s attention. Hill delighted at the opportunity to spend time with his family and to try out new things. During his sickness, he maintained his sense of humor and his dry, quick wit.

The memory of Hill is cherished by his devoted wife, Candace Brown Jones, who resides in Irving, Texas; his father, Hilary Jones, Sr., who resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two Godchildren who were also his niece and nephew, Erin and Eric Jones, Jr.; two additional nieces, Sedonia Davis and Tydashia McElwee; five additional nephews, Joshua and Jacob Franklin, Jermaine Davis, Jr., Tariq and Jace Bernard, and Lawrence Williams; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

It was his mother, Diane C. Jones, as well as his maternal grandparents, Elmore and Robertine Causey, Sr., and his paternal grandparents, Rolin and Lillian Jones, who passed away before him. Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 185 Eddie Robinson, Sr. Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802, will be the location of the funeral services that will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:00 the morning.

Visitation will begin at nine o’clock and continue until the start of the ceremony. Helping to Transferred to Winfield Funeral Services, located at 7221 Plank Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
