Following the passing of Roselee Light, Cleve, Anne, Agnes, Jay, Albert, Beulah, twins Claude and Clyde, Roma, and finally Roselee, Roselee Light has passed away.
Hazel was her given name, but Roselee was never fond of it, and she refused to use it after she got married. On November 1, 1943, Edward Eugene Light was captured. Their union resulted in the birth of a daughter named Wanda, as well as sons named Bill, Bob, Larry, Johnny, Michael, Raymond, and Kenny.
Her eight children took up the most of Roselee’s time, although she eventually became a certified nursing assistant in a nursing home in the area. Additionally, she took pleasure in going to church on a regular basis, participating in gospel singings, fishing, gardening, and attending family events that occasionally involved making molasses.
The time she got to spend with her children and grandkids brought her the most happiness. Everyone who knew and loved her will miss her tremendously since she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Light; her parents, John and Rose Huskey; her loving son, Michael; one granddaughter, Cheryl Light; two daughters-in-law, Yvonne Light and Betty Light; five brothers; four sisters; and one newborn. Her parents were John and Rose Huskey.
Roselee is survived by her family, which consists of six sons and one daughter: Bill Light and his wife, Connie, of Frankfort, Missouri; Bob Light and his wife, Penny, of Center, Missouri; Larry Light and his wife, Elva, of Hannibal, Missouri.
Johnny Light and his wife, Martha, of Jefferson City, Missouri; Raymond Light of Rolla, Missouri; Kenny Light of Rolla, Missouri; Wanda Miller and her husband, Rick, of Rolla, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; twenty-three great-great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
At one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla will be the location of the funeral service that will be held for Roselee Light. Subsequently, the burial will take place at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
