Hope Dabney Obituary, A Beacon of Kindness and Compassion – Death

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we bid farewell to a beloved member of our community, Hope Dabney. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of kindness, compassion, and joy will forever remain in our hearts. Hope was more than just a student or colleague; she was a bright spirit who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and her presence brought light into even the darkest of days.

Throughout her time at TU, Hope made a lasting impact through her involvement in various organizations, including the speech-language pathology program, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Reformed University Fellowship. Driven by her passion for helping others, Hope pursued a career in speech-language pathology, a field that allowed her to make a tangible difference in the lives of those with communication and behavioral needs.

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from TU, she continued her education at Auburn University, where she obtained her Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis. Hope’s dedication to serving others extended beyond the classroom, as she devoted herself to helping adults with intellectual disabilities at River Edge, a non-profit organization in Macon, Georgia. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst BCBA, she worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for those she served, embodying the values of compassion and empathy in everything she did.

Her passion for her work was deeply rooted in her personal experiences, as she grew up supporting her younger brother Drew, who has Autism. Hope’s unwavering love and support for her brother inspired her to pursue a career focused on empowering individuals to find their voice and reach their full potential. Hope’s impact on the speech-language pathology department at TU is immeasurable.

Her dedication to her studies, her compassion for others, and her unwavering commitment to making a difference serve as a testament to the remarkable person she was. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though Hope may no longer be with us, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to serving others.

Though she may be gone, her light will continue to shine bright, guiding us as we strive to make the world a better place, just as she did every day of her remarkable life. Hope will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Hope, knowing that your legacy of love and kindness will continue to make a difference in the world for years to come.
