Raised on the family farm, Alverda was the cherished daughter of Albert and Elda (Felderman) Wiegert Sr. Her early years unfolded against the backdrop of a one-room schoolhouse, fostering a love for learning that would shape her journey. The values of hard work and perseverance, instilled in those formative years, accompanied her as she ventured into the world beyond. In 1952, Alverda graduated from Andrew High School, carrying with her the seeds of determination that would bloom throughout her life.
