 In this time of grief, we join together to remember and honor the life of Darlene Mae Reeder, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 83. As we extend our deepest condolences, let us celebrate the vibrant life, enduring love, and cherished memories that Darlene leaves behind.

Darlene Mae Reeder, born on May 6, 1940, to George and Lillian Wolford in Derry Township, PA, embarked on a remarkable journey through life. Her formative years were marked by her education at Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, Nebraska, where she crossed paths with the love of her life, Harold Reeder. United in matrimony on September 1, 1958, Darlene and Harold’s love story unfolded with shared joys and challenges.

In 1964, the couple ventured to California, creating a home where they nurtured a family and cultivated lasting memories. Their journey continued until 1993 when they planted new roots in Brownsville, TN. Darlene, a dedicated homemaker, found purpose and fulfillment in caring for her family, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she held dear.

A Legacy of Love: Family and Friendships

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillian Wolford, her beloved husband, Harold Reeder, and their son, Daniel Reeder. While she bid farewell to dear ones, her enduring spirit lives on through the love she shared. Darlene is survived by her son Bill Reeder (Karen) of Stanton, TN; three brothers, George Wolford, Jr. (Rose) of Omaha, NE, Ron Wolford (Angie) of Brownsville, TN, and Fred Wolford (Nina) of Omaha, NE. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her six grandchildren: RaeAnn Warner (Randy) of Marble Hill, MO, Chris Reeder (Cassie) of Friendship, TN, Justin Reeder (Katherine) of Savannah, TN, Kasie Young (Travis) of Stanton, TN, Josh Reeder (Dani) of Bolivar, TN, and Brandi Carter of Keeling, TN. Darlene’s family extends to include 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, a testament to the love and connections she fostered.

In addition to her family, Darlene was blessed with the companionship of her two BFFs (Best Friends Forever), Minnie Wilson, and Norma Henderson, both of Brownsville, TN. Their shared laughter, camaraderie, and support added richness to Darlene’s life. In accordance with Darlene’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation as the method of remembrance. This allows them to honor her desire for simplicity while preserving the essence of her spirit.

All arrangements for Darlene’s final journey are entrusted to the compassionate care of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. The dedicated staff ensures that Darlene’s transition to eternal peace is handled with respect, empathy, and a commitment to the wishes she held dear.
