 The community mourns the loss of a beloved member, Mr. Joshua Lee Loftis, who, at the age of 45, entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, February 8, 2024, at Colleton Medical Center. As we bid farewell to Joshua, we remember a life marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to family and work. Born on October 2, 1978, in Charleston, Joshua was the son of Denise Marilyn Hillman Jennings and the late Floyd Julian Loftis. His journey in the professional realm led him to a successful career as a Data Analyst for Sperry Rail Service.

For 14 years, Joshua dedicated himself to his work, earning a reputation as a hardworking and committed employee. Joshua was more than his professional achievements; he embodied principles of honesty, honor, and integrity. Known for keeping his word, he approached life with a sense of duty and love. As a devoted son, husband, and father, Joshua’s impact extended far beyond the workplace.

Family First: A Devoted Son, Husband, and Father

Survived by his parents, Denise and Reggie Jennings of Columbia, Joshua leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. His children, Amber Dawn Souza of Walterboro, Dustin Triance of Savannah, Georgia, and Kayla Hiers of Smoaks, were the pride and joy of his life. As a father, Joshua poured everything he had into ensuring the happiness and well-being of his children.

His role as a big brother to Matthew Frierson of Walterboro was cherished, and the bond they shared was a testament to the strength of family ties. Engaged to Shauna Warren of Walterboro, Joshua found happiness and companionship that brought a new chapter to his life. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Perry Hiers, Jr., Sophia Hiers, Cody Grider, Luke Triance, Starla Triance, Andrew Wynn, Jordan Holmes, Jenna Holmes, and Wilder Smoak.

A Farewell to Loved Ones: A Heartfelt Thanks

In addition to his father, Joshua was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Loftis, and an uncle, Dennis Hillman. Despite the pain of loss, Joshua’s family expresses profound gratitude to Sperry Rail Service for the unwavering love and support extended to them during this challenging time. Funeral services to celebrate Joshua’s life will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel in Walterboro. Following the service, the family invites friends to join them as they remember and honor Joshua’s life.
