Bob Eihusen Obituary, Grand Island NE, In Loving Memory Of Bob Eihusen – Death

Robert “Bob” George Eihusen was a beloved member of the Grand Island community who passed away on January 29, 2024. He was known for his easygoing nature, tremendous generosity, and steadfast commitment. Bob Eihusen was born to Virgil Robert and Margarette Minnie (Luebbe) on September 25, 1952. He has left an everlasting impression on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Life of Leadership and Legacy: Bob’s Journey

Bob was a brilliant leader throughout his life, and his tenure as CEO of Chief Industries is a prime example. Under Bob’s leadership, Chief Industries was able to achieve stability, durability, and unprecedented expansion, solidifying its position as a cornerstone. The success of the family business, which Bob helped establish with his father Virgil in 1954, is a tribute to Virgil’s foresight, insight, and relentless pursuit of perfection. A lasting legacy will be shaped by Bob’s dedication to innovation and business responsibility. From 1971 to 1977, he honorably served in the Air and Army National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his neighborhood and nation.

Community Engagement and Contributions

Bob was very active in many different capacities during his career, making substantial contributions to boards and organizations in his neighborhood. His dedication to the business world was on full display as a member of the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and the president’s circle of the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation. Bob had an impact well beyond the business world, thanks to his appointments to the Nebraska Diplomats by Governor Kay Orr and his roles as Past Director of the Farm Building New Advisory Board and the Political Action Committee, Nebraska Association of Commerce and Industry.

As a young man, Bob showed his commitment to community service and the friendships he made via his engagement in the Jaycees. In 2002, he was honored with the Alumni Achievement Award from Wayne State College for his remarkable achievements. His 2005 position as General Chairman of the Cornhusker State Games demonstrated his dedication to encouraging healthy lifestyles and sports in the community. Bob was appointed to the Judicial Nominations Commission for Supreme Court District 5 in 1993 by Governor E. Ben Nelson. Many fields, including industry, healthcare, and others, felt Bob’s influence.

Bob’s Endearing Qualities: A Heartfelt Remembrance

Bob will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments, but also for the unique qualities that made him beloved by those who were closest to him. His character was distinguished by his eagerness to serve those in need, his patience, and his kindness. The offbeat demeanor and biting wit of Bob Eihusen, who lived by “Eihusen Time,” are traditions that his children have continued.

You could find Bob scouring the aisles of Ace Hardware for supplies; his inventiveness, reminiscent of “MacGyver,” made him good at fixing nearly anything. Bob loved being outside and in nature. He was a skilled fisherman and hunter. His passion for adorning festive spaces, which might often veer towards “Clark Griswold” excess, was a reflection of his delight in crafting unforgettable moments.

Bob Eihusen: A Tribute to His Family and Legacies

Marci (Corey) Tompkins, Michael Eihusen, DJ (Kathy) Ostdiek, Amy (David) Ostdiek, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren are among Bob’s surviving relatives. Not only does he leave behind a large number of nieces and nephews, but also his sisters Terri Rank and Libby (Jack) Henry. Many members of Bob’s family, including his parents and brother-in-law Sam Rank, have passed away. As people gather to honor Bob’s life, they will recall his positive influence on Grand Islanders and the lives he touched with profound gratitude.

Memorial Service: Honoring Bob’s Life

Riverside Golf Club will host a memorial ceremony and time of sharing in honor of Bob on February 7th from 4-7 pm. A celebration of his life will follow at 5:30 pm. With Reverend Dan Naranjo preside over the ceremony. Bob is known for his easygoing nature, so we ask that everyone attending dress casually or in whatever makes them feel most comfortable.

Bob has shown his dedication to the future of the Grand Island community by suggesting memorials to the Grand Island Children’s Museum. The arrangements are being handled by All Faiths Funeral Home. Condolences can be expressed at www.giallfaiths.com. Bob’s impact on those fortunate enough to have known him will last a lifetime, and his legacy will shape the story of a life well-lived.
