Cindy S. Henry, who had been battling pancreatic cancer for more than a year, passed away from the disease. She was the wife of the mayor of Fort Wayne and the former proprietor of The Green Frog Inn. 67 was her age. In the month of October 2022, Cindy Henry, formerly known as Cindy Kocks, made the announcement that she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Her husband, Tom Henry, her son Benjamin, her daughter Elizabeth, and her four grandchildren are the only ones who will remember her.
Geoff Paddock, who represents the fifth district on the Fort Wayne City Council, acknowledged this morning that she had passed away, but he was unable to provide a time frame for her passing. “Hungry Hill” is located close to the northwest part of downtown Fort Wayne, and Cindy Henry, who describes herself as a people person, was the oldest of six children when she was growing up in Fort Wayne. As stated by Henry in an article published in the Journal Gazette in March 2008, the neighbourhood was given its nickname due to the fact that the majority of its inhabitants were blue-collar workers who did not make a significant amount of money.
After completing her studies at Heritage High School and International Business College, Cindy Henry received her diploma. According to a piece that was published in October 2005, Cindy Henry met her husband in 1973 while she was working at Scott’s grocery store on Decatur Road.
At the time, she was 17 years old and he was 21 years old. When Tom Henry was hired as a security guard, she was working as a cashier at the time.
Due to the fact that she was seeing someone else at the time, Tom Henry initially asked out another cashier, and after that, the two became friends. As a result of the age gap between them, Cindy Henry stated that Tom Henry had a difficult time obtaining permission from her parents to date. Cindy Henry, on the other hand, said that he was a clever individual and inquired with her mother about the possibility of him taking her to church.
In the interview that took place in 2005, Cindy Henry stated that her mother’s perspective shifted after she learned that he was a Catholic. The same story featured an interview with Tom Henry, in which he stated that his request to take her to church was not only genuine, but that he was also aware that it would be successful.
