A vivid description of the chaotic scene can be found in the accounts of eyewitnesses. For instance, Abby Bolter asserted that she heard a “large bang” followed by shouting about the occurrence during the course of the event. She initially thought it was fireworks; however, she immediately realised the seriousness of the situation when flames and smoke billowed into the night sky, reaching heights of approximately 200 feet. She came to the conclusion that the situation was extremely dangerous.
The promptness with which emergency services responded to the fire was a direct result of the urgency of the situation, as well as the ferocity of the fire. Neil Davies, who serves as the spokesperson for the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, expressed his appreciation for the joint efforts of all of the responders who attempted to suppress the fire despite the challenging conditions that they were presented with.
