An officer from the Dinuba Police Department and a suspect were both injured as a result of the exchange of gunfire that took place on Thursday evening. At approximately eight o’clock in the evening, the event took place close to the intersection of Kern Street and I Street, which is located just outside of Dinuba High School.

Abel Iriarte, the Chief of Police of Dinuba, has reported that a wanted suspect was pointing a firearm in the direction of those who were in the vicinity. Within a short period of time after the police approached the guy, he opened fire, resulting in the injury of one of the officers. Officers returned fire, hitting the suspect in the head with their bullet wounds.

It has been reported by Chief Iriarte that the injured officer was transported to a local hospital, and it is anticipated that they will survive their injuries. In addition, the suspect was taken to the hospital with injuries that were deemed to be potentially fatal before being transported there.

The officers who were involved in the incident will be awarded a leave of absence with pay under the terms of an administrative leave of absence. When the inquiry into the incident is finished, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office will be the one to carry out the investigation.

It was predicted by Chief Iriarte that law officers would be present throughout the night; still, Dinuba High School will be able to continue its usual activities on Friday.
