On Saturday, January 13, 2024, the community of Jasper bid farewell to a beloved resident, Jack Henry Pitts, at the age of 91. Mr. Pitts passed away peacefully at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit. Jack Henry Pitts was born to Olin and Susan Pitts, and from a young age, he exhibited qualities that would shape the remarkable life he led.
Throughout his nearly a century on this Earth, Jack touched the lives of countless individuals with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to family. A funeral service to celebrate Jack’s life is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Sheffield and Reverend Mike Ware will officiate the ceremony, offering words of comfort and remembrance.
Following the service, interment will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park, where Jack will find his final resting place. For those who wish to pay their respects and support the grieving family, visitation hours have been set from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at South Canton Funeral Home. Jack Henry Pitts’ journey through life was not without its challenges, but he faced them with resilience and a positive outlook.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his devoted wife, children, and grandchildren. Unfortunately, he was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Susan Pitts, as well as his sister, Olene Henson. Additionally, his son-in-law, Joe Livingston, preceded him in death. Despite the hardships, Jack’s spirit remained unbroken. His commitment to his family and community set an example for all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jack’s love for life, coupled with his infectious sense of humor, made him a cherished figure in Jasper and beyond.
