On October 31, 2019, Kay Marie Oetjen, who was 61 years old, passed away in a calm manner. Sterling and Dolores (Krasser) Oetjen welcomed their daughter Kay into the world on August 26, 1958. Despite the fact that she was diagnosed with Down syndrome at a young age, Kay was never one to shy away from a challenge or allow life to pass her quietly.
In addition to being a passionate swimmer, she was also a bowler who participated in the Special Olympics at the local, regional, and state levels. She also considered herself to be a “movie critic extraordinaire.”
Betty Boop, Wonder Woman, the television series Bewitched, and anything and everything Disney were some of Kay’s favourite things.
A significant number of her most cherished moments in life occurred while she was on vacation at Walt Disney World, where she was able to spend time with her family and her many favourite characters. The “finer things” in life were also something that Kay enjoyed doing, such as going shopping, getting her nails done, and wearing gorgeous jewellery.
On the other hand, Kay cherished the people in her life and the time she spent with them more than anything else in everything else. The only person who could do what she did was Kay, and she made sure that everyone received a hug and felt appreciated.
Those who have been most involved in Kay’s life since the death of her mother nine years ago include her special carer Joyce Oetjen, her cousins Keith Oetjen and Marcia Oetjen, many cousins on her mother’s side of the family, her second cousins Becky (Tony) Johnson and Henry (Kilee) Oetjen, her honorary nephews Jack and Maxwell Johnson, her honorary nieces Ruby, Willa, and Lydia Oetjen, a special friend Brittany Bedell, and a large number of other friends and extended family members.
