The news that Milos Milinkovic, a former player for Dorcol, the Serbian national team, and a referee for rugby league, had passed away was greeted by us with a great deal of anguish and sorrow. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Milos Milinkovic family on behalf of the Serbian Rugby League. Miloš Milinković, a renowned rugby player from Dorćola and a member of the Serbian national team, passed away unexpectedly today, at the age of 46.
We were filled with a tremendous deal of anguish and sorrow when we learned of his passing. Miloš Milinković, during his playing career, was a member of the senior team of Rugby Club Dorĭol. It was with this team that he achieved several victories in the Championship of Serbia in the sport of rugby 13.
Additionally, with the Dorĭol team, he won the Cup three times in the sport of rugby 15. At the age of 13, he participated in seven official matches for the Serbian national team in the sport of rugby.
His birthday is May 18th, 1978, and he was born in Belgrade. He began his rugby career at the Singidunum Rugby Club, where he made his first public appearances. In addition to being one of the individuals who, following the split that occurred in 1964, brought the sport of rugby 13 back to Serbia in 2001 and established the Rugby 13 Federation of Serbia, he is also one of the founders of the Dorćol Rugby Club, which was established on May 24, 1998. The first official match that the Serbian national team played was in Lebanon in 2003, during the Mediterranean Cup. The match was against the Lebanese national team, and he was a member of the Serbian national squad.
After his active sports career came to an end, Miloš Milinković devoted himself to the field of judging. He was regarded as one of the most skilled referees in the sport of rugby 13, and he also earned success on the world stage as a referee in the sport of rugby 13. Additionally, Miloš held the position of commissioner for the Rugby 13 Federation of Serbia competition for a considerable amount of time.
There are individuals, such as Miloš Milinković, who have left an indelible stamp in the sport of rugby 13, who never leave us. They continue to reside in our hearts, proudly and with love, which we pass down from one generation to the next. To the Rugby 13 Federation of Serbia, I extend my gratitude and eternal honour at this time.
