On Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the Baystate Medical Centre, David A. Antico, who was 54 years old, passed away and entered into eternal rest. Although he was born in Springfield, he would spend the majority of his childhood in West Springfield, where he attended West Springfield High School and graduated in 1988. In addition, he had completed his studies in landscape design at the UMASS Stockbridge School of Agriculture and graduated with honours.
Dave owned Patriot Landscape Design and Construction. He was the proprietor of the company. Additionally, he has worked as a truck driver for PFG and N.Winer & Son, as well as the Hampden County Correctional Facility, where he served as a correctional officer. Bertera Auto Group, where he worked as a salesperson to customers.
Dave will be remembered for his easygoing and fun-loving character, his ability to quickly make friends with virtually anybody, and most significantly, his love for his family, particularly the way he shared his passion for sweets with his daughter and his interest in sports with his son. Additionally, he might be found on the sidelines of his children’s sporting events, cheering them on, golfing with his son, nephews, and friends, or getting a drink with his cherished nephews, Mike Antico, Dylan, and Tyler Scanlon, and friends while watching New England Sports.
He frequently participated in all of these activities. His mother, Sandra J. (Delano) Antico, passed away on October 24, 2020, and his brother, Dino G. Antico, passed away on January 9, 2012. He was the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Danielle A. (Menard) Antico, a son named Nicholas R. Antico and a daughter named Grace I.
Antico, both of whom reside at home; his father, Salvatore Antico, of West Springfield; a step-daughter named Taylor A. Schmidt of Florida and Western Massachusetts; a sister named Rosemarie A. Antico of West Springfield; and a number of nieces, nephews, and a great niece named McKenna; his mother-in-law, JoAnn R. (Borkowski) Menard of South Hadley; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Curran Jones Funeral Home, located at 109 Main Street in West Springfield, will be open for visitation on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 4 to 7 o’clock in the evening. This will be followed by a Funeral Home Service at 7 o’clock. It is planned to be a private burial.
