Anthony J. LaRussa, Jr., a resident of Stanton Heights, Pittsburgh, went suddenly on January 4, 2024, at the young age of thirty. The citizens of Stanton Heights are in grief at the tragic loss of one of their own. Because Anthony was not only the youngest of four siblings but also a brother to everyone who had the good fortune to meet him, his premature passing has created a vacuum in the community.
Everything about Anthony’s time spent in high school at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, where he graduated with the class of 2011, was nothing short of remarkable. Through his participation in the MASQUE musical theatre programme, marching band, concert band, chamber choir, and other musical theatre activities over the course of four years, he made an unforgettable impression on the artistic landscape of the school.
His abilities were not limited to the realm of academia, as evidenced by the fact that he received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Point Park University in 2015, where he graduated with honours.
Anthony was an employee of the Department of Permits, where he provided the City of Pittsburgh with his professional services with a great deal of passion and commitment.
Anthony’s roots went deep in the neighbourhood that he considered to be his home because he was born, raised, and currently resides in Stanton Heights. His journey started at St. Raphael Elementary School, where he established the groundwork for a life that would be characterised by accomplishments and a love for music.
Anthony exemplified the principles of leadership and community service from a young age, and he attained the rank of Eagle Scout with the Troop 73 organisation.
