It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved father, Grover C. Spearman III, on Thursday afternoon. The day before his passing, at 11:51 am, I had the privilege of speaking with my daddy. Our conversation, lasting 17 minutes, was filled with his infectious excitement and happiness. Little did I know that it would be our final exchange. At 3:13 pm, the hospital delivered the devastating news of a medical emergency, and by 2:24 pm, Grover had left us. The abruptness of his departure has left a void that cannot be easily filled.
Our family is grappling with the enormity of this loss, and my heart is shattered. In these challenging times, we lean on each other for support. My brothers and I all flew into Kansas City on Friday morning, united in grief and navigating through the waves of emotions together. The love and strength we draw from one another are helping us face the difficult days ahead.

Services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Thatcher’s Funeral Home, located at 1520 North 5th Street, Kansas City, KS 66101. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am.
