Terry Hawes Obituary, In Memoriam Of Terry Hawes – Death

On the 2nd of January 2024, the community of Airedale bid farewell to a beloved figure, Terry Hawes, who peacefully passed away in hospital at the age of 84 after a short illness. Terry’s departure leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories for his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Terry, the loving husband of the late Jean, was not only a devoted partner but also a treasured father to Gary, Julie, the late Stephen, and Dawn. His caring and compassionate nature extended to his role as a grandad and great-grandad, endearing him to the hearts of his family members. He was a dearly loved father-in-law to Kathryn and Tony, creating strong and lasting bonds within the family.

In addition to his immediate family, Terry was a dear brother to Mo, Ada, Brenda, and Brian. His presence brought warmth to family gatherings, and he was a cherished brother-in-law and uncle, adding laughter and joy to the lives of those around him.

Terry’s impact reached far beyond his family, as he forged lasting friendships with many in the community. His kindness, generosity, and jovial spirit left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. His departure leaves a void that will be keenly felt by the countless friends and acquaintances who were fortunate enough to know him.

The funeral service to honor Terry’s life will be held on Monday, 22nd January, at Pontefract Crematorium at 1:40 pm. The family kindly requests that attendees refrain from sending flowers and instead consider making donations in Terry’s memory to The Prince of Wales Hospice, a cause close to his heart.

Following the service, the family invites all attendees to join them for refreshments at Terry’s favorite stomping ground, The Albion Street W.M.C. (Irish Nash). It will be a time to share memories, celebrate Terry’s life, and raise a pint in his honor.

For any inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements, please contact McTigue Funeral Directors at Tel. 01977-555733. As the community mourns the loss of Terry Hawes, they also come together to celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting connections that will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Terry’s memory will live on through the stories and shared moments that brought joy to so many.
