Jane Roach Obituary, Texas Resident “Jane Roach” Has Died

Jane Loel Burleson Roach, who had been battling an illness for a considerable amount of time, passed away peacefully in the warmth of her own home on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Lake Lawn Funeral Home, which can be found in New Orleans at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., will be the location where the visitation will start at nine o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 16, 2019. Visitors, including friends and family members, are strongly encouraged to attend the visitation.

The funeral services will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning, immediately following the visitation. All of the funeral and burial ceremonies will take place at Springfield Cemetery, which is located in Springfield. Her parents, Thomas Burleson and Eloise Kyle Burleson, welcomed her into the world on September 3, 1930 in Brady, Texas. Mrs. Roach was named after her mother. When she was born, she was given the full name Jane Loel Burleson.

The year 1949 was significant for her because it was the year that she received her degree in psychology from the University of New Hampshire university. She went on to marry John Roach in the year 1950, and the ceremony took place in Austin, Texas. Prior to moving to New Orleans in 1963, the couple had three children. They had moved there earlier that year. Mrs Roach was a pioneer in the field of addiction rehabilitation, and she was a pathfinder in the profession.

In 1972, Charity Hospital became the first facility to develop an inpatient treatment centre, and she was a member of the team that was responsible for establishing the organisation.

In addition to that, she was a part of the group that was responsible for establishing the substance misuse unit at DuPaul Hospital. In the year 1981, Mr. and Mrs. Roach launched New Freedom Institute, which was the very first outpatient treatment centre of its kind in the southeastern region of Louisiana.

The year 1999 marked Mrs. Roach’s entry into the arena of private practice, during which she began providing clients in the city of Metairie with counselling services.

Prior to her retirement at the age of 88, she moved her clinic to Ponchatoula in the year 2018, which was the year that she relocated her practice. Throughout the course of her professional life, Mrs. Roach has been of assistance to thousands of people in regaining their lives, obtaining sobriety, and developing the skills necessary to lead productive lives.
