Troy Dargan Obituary, Gold Coast AUS Rugby Footbal Player “Troy Dargan” Died In Motorcycle Accident

In a tragic turn of events, the family of Troy ‘Tj’ Dargan has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist in the cost of bringing him back to Australia from the Cook Islands. The 26-year-old rugby league player lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Christmas Eve while holidaying with family in the South Pacific. The sudden loss has left his family devastated, and the fundraiser aims to alleviate the financial burden associated with repatriating his body and covering funeral costs.

The GoFundMe page, launched shortly after midnight on December 25, set an initial target of $25,000. However, within just 24 hours, the outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans saw the campaign surpassing its goal, raising over $34,000. The heartfelt message posted on the fundraising page sheds light on the tragic circumstances surrounding Troy Dargan’s passing and appeals for assistance during this challenging time. The post, written on behalf of Dargan’s sister-in-law Wendy and her husband, expresses deep pain and sorrow over the loss of Tj in a motorcycle accident during a family holiday in the Cook Islands.

“Our Family is trying to bring his body back to Sydney, Australia. With him passing just before Christmas and the suddenness of it all, I am trying to help ease the financial costs in any way that I can and kindly ask people to donate to this cause,” the post reads. The timing of the accident, coupled with the unexpected expenses, has created a significant financial burden on the family.

The post describes Troy as the most loving, caring son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. It highlights his resilience and determination, stating, “Tj never gave up even when it got hard. He pushed himself to all limits, and that’s what made him so incredible.”

The family expresses gratitude for any help during this time of need, emphasizing the desire to bring Tj home. The post concludes by stating that any excess funds will go toward covering funeral costs.

The overarching sentiment is a poignant plea for support, echoing the profound impact Troy had on those around him. Troy Dargan, a promising talent in the rugby league community, had recently joined the Canberra Raiders in November, signing a development deal for 2024.
