Today, December 23, 2023, our hearts are heavy with grief as we bid farewell to a true legend, Samboy, the Skywalker. A man of faith, exceptional courage, humility, and grace, he left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
At 61, Samboy’s journey on this earthly plane came to a peaceful end at the Medical City. During his final moments, Samboy was surrounded by the love and care of those closest to him.
Lelen, Jamie, Johannes, sister Malou, nephews AP, Alby, and wife Kates, along with best friends Allan Caidic and Robert Evangelista, stood by his side, providing comfort and support.
Even those separated by miles were able to say their goodbyes. Sister Ate Coy – Maricor, Dan, and niece Danielle, together with Jun Zarate and Coach Larry Albano, connected through an online chat to share their final words with Samboy. The farewell extended beyond borders, as loved ones abroad and friends like Father Franklin Beltran,
former Letran Chaplain, and Lelen’s siblings Gigi, Dixon, and family joined in bidding their final adieu. In a poignant moment, Father Franklin Beltran administered the Last Rites, offering solace and spiritual comfort.
Samboy’s legacy will live on through the memories of his unwavering faith, incredible courage, and the impact he had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Today, we mourn the loss of a true Skywalker, but we also celebrate a life well-lived and the enduring spirit of a remarkable man.
