Lyon Foggie Obituary, A Life Well Lived – Death

With kind permission from Helen’s family, we share the heartfelt news of the peaceful passing of a beloved soul, Helen Jane Watson, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was 87 years old. Helen departed this world at Chalmers Hospital in Banff, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Helen was the dearly beloved wife of the late Robbie, a partner in life whose presence she undoubtedly missed since his departure. She was the much-loved mam of Graeme and Allan, two sons who were undoubtedly blessed to call her their mother.

Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support undoubtedly shaped the lives of those around her. Helen’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her sons and their families.

Her memory is carried on by her loving daughters-in-law, Shona and Mandy, who became integral parts of the family, bringing their unique warmth and care into Helen’s life. The bonds forged with them are a testament to the welcoming and embracing nature that defined Helen. As a grandmother, Helen played a significant role in the lives of her grandchildren, showering them with love and wisdom. She was a cherished granny to Philip and Claire, Eirian and Dan, Alisanne, Aleisha, and Amber. Her home was undoubtedly filled with the laughter and joy of these young souls, and the memories created with Granny Helen will be treasured for a lifetime.

In the role of a great-grandmother, Helen was known as G G to Haig and Ella. The arrival of each new generation brought immense joy to her life, and her role as G G was embraced with the same love and warmth that defined her as a mother and grandmother. To honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Helen Jane Watson, a funeral service will be held at Marnoch New Church in Aberchirder on Friday, December 29 at 11 am. It will be a time for family, friends, and well-wishers to come together and pay their respects to a woman who touched the lives of many.

The service will be followed by a procession to Marnoch Cemetery, where Helen will find her final resting place. The ceremony will undoubtedly be filled with both tears of sorrow and smiles of remembrance, as those who knew Helen reflect on the impact she had on their lives.

All friends are respectfully invited to join the family in saying their goodbyes and celebrating the life of Helen Jane Watson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made at the church door to support the Friends of Chalmers Hospital, a cause close to Helen’s heart.

As the family gathers to bid farewell to a remarkable woman, they find solace in the memories created, the love shared, and the lasting impact of Helen’s presence. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Robbie, and may her spirit continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind.
