On the evening of December 22, at approximately 6:30 p.m., there were reports of shots being fired, as stated by the information that was provided by a Couger Alert that was disseminated by Columbus State University.

The Columbus Police Department has informed the Ledger-Enquirer that at least two suspects were involved in the heist that took place throughout the day at S.B. Company Jewelry & Sunglasses on Tuesday, which culminated in bullets being fired. The robbery took place on Tuesday.
