On July 20, 1926, in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the world welcomed a beautiful soul named Pauline Olive (Morton) Jones. Daughter of John Willard and Crystal Bell (Bartlett) Morton, Pauline’s journey on this earth concluded on December 15, 2023, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care in Tarkio, Missouri.
Surrounded by her devoted husband and cherished loved ones, she peacefully entered eternal rest at the age of 97 years, 4 months, and 25 days.
Growing up amid the simple beauty of Burlington Junction, Missouri, Pauline embraced her education within the community’s schools. Her roots ran deep in Burlington Junction, and it would be the backdrop for most of her remarkable 97 years.
In the tapestry of her life, Pauline’s first chapter unfolded with her union to Robert Leslie Hoover. This love story brought forth two beautiful children, Larry and Connie. Sadly, after 13 years of marriage, Robert departed from this world. Pauline’s journey took a turn, leading her to a second marriage with Robert Dean Jones. In this second chapter of love, a daughter named Robin graced their lives.
While she juggled the roles of homemaker and peacemaker, Pauline also lent her hands to various endeavors. Her early years saw her as a waitress, and later, she donned the title of the salad bar lady in the West Nodaway Schools kitchen.
Her dedication to her family was unwavering. Pauline’s love knew no bounds, and she went above and beyond to care for and support her loved ones. A woman of diverse talents and interests, Pauline found joy in the artistry of cross-stitch and embroidery.
