Neil Richard Arvonio, 65, of Vestal, fought a valiant struggle against cancer until the day he passed away on December 16, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at home. It is with heavy hearts that we relay the news of his loss.
On May 26, 1958, Neil Perry Arvonio and Alice (Strempek) Arvonio welcomed their cherished son into the world in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This was the beginning of Neil’s adventure. His entrance signaled the beginning of a life that would have a significant influence on people who were in his immediate vicinity.
Following his graduation from Union-Endicott High School in 1976 and Broome Community College in 1978, Neil immediately began his professional life in the field of information technology. His career path took him through prestigious positions at IBM in Endicott, New York, and Lockheed Martin in Owego, New York, before culminating in his employment at United Health Services (UHS) in the information technology department at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, New York. The competence, dependability, and steadfast devotion that he shown in his services to these organizations were the hallmarks of his dedication and contributions.
The generosity, work ethic, and unyielding resolve that Neil shown throughout his life had an impact on the lives of a great number of people. The incredible strength and bravery with which he confronted every obstacle, most notably his fight against cancer, served as an example to all who were in his immediate vicinity.
In addition to his work life, Neil had a wide range of interests. He delights in the simplest of pleasures, taking pleasure in the time he spent with his family and friends, cultivating his interests, and appreciating the fleeting moments that life has to offer.
In the memories he left behind and the people whose lives he touched, his legacy will continue to live on. It is a credit to Neil’s tenacity, generosity, and unyielding spirit that his enormous effect on his family, friends, and community will survive for generations to come.
Notwithstanding the fact that Neil is no longer with us, his legacy will continue to serve as a wellspring of fortitude and motivation. Everyone who had the good fortune to be a part of his path will miss him passionately and remember him with affection.
