Barbara Donnelly Obituary, Binghamton NY Resident Has Passed Away

A peaceful and tranquil passing occurred on December 12, 2023 for Barbara Ann (Murphy) Donnelly, who resided in Binghamton, New York, and was 66 years old at the time of her passing. Her husband was by her side at the time of her passing. A number of her cherished relatives, including her parents, Vincent and Barbara Murphy, her nephew Nicholas Hooker, and a number of aunts and uncles, have before her in death.

She is now reunited with them. The following people are among those who are able to carry on her legacy: her husband, Brian Donnelly; her sister Kathleen Hooker, who is married to Paul; her nephew Sean Hooker, who is married to Gina; her great-nieces Olivia and Adrianna; her brother Vincent Murphy, who is married to Laura; her nieces Sklyer and Melissa; her nephews Sam and Nicholas; and her aunt Kathleen Farmer.

She graduated from Chenango Valley High School, where she had attended for her high school education.

The individual had previously held positions at General Electric Company, owned and operated The House of Treasurers, and was currently employed by St. Patrick’s Church in the capacity of Director of Outreach Ministries for the Southern Tier community.
Barbara had a profound love for life and was committed to assisting people who were in need. She was also a generous person.

This became immediately obvious as a result of the method in which she aided clients in the process of arranging and designing events for a variety of occasions. Furthermore, it was a demonstration of the manner in which she assisted the clients of the outreach ministries by doing everything in her power to fulfil the criteria that they had.

She was humble, and she indicated that she did not wish to take credit for the accomplishments, but rather that she credited them to the exceptional volunteers who devoted a substantial amount of their time and energy to the success of the programmes. She stated that she did not wish to take anything credit for the accomplishments.

Barb was honoured with the Binghamton Sertoma Club Service to Mankind award in 2023, and in 2018, she was inducted into the Chenango Valley Hall of Fame by the alumni. Both of these significant events took place in the year 2018. Barb was also awarded the Immaculata distinction by the Diocese of Syracuse. This honour was bestowed to her.
