Mike Noel Obituary, Mike Noel Has Died

The 3rd of January, 1948 found Mike Noel being born in the town of Burlington, Iowa. He was Claude and Lucille (Floyd) Noel’s third child and the third son overall. Mike received his high school diploma from New London High School in 1966. He was born and reared in New London, Iowa. The wedding took place in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, in 1987, and Mike wed Ann Swink Beauchamp.

During the Vietnam War, Mike served in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the carrier USS St. Paul. In December 1972, he was dismissed with honor from the military. Subsequent to his return to Mount Pleasant, Mike secured employment with Motorola Inc. and, subsequently, with COBO International in Burlington, Iowa, where he remained until his retirement in 2013.

The VFW and the USS St. Paul Association both counted him as a member at one point. Additionally, he volunteered his time to perform tours for the Midwest Old Threshers School. In Mount Pleasant, Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church’s congregation. He had a deep love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and he was a man of faith who was devoted to Him. The Green Bay Packers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Iowa State Cyclones were all teams that he cheered for professionally.

In addition to being an expert gardener, he had a passion for carpentry, particularly the construction of model ships and boats. Not only did Mike and Ann take pleasure in spending time at their lake hideaway, but Mike also had a passion for scuba diving when he was younger. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important to him.

In addition to his sons Jeff (Susan) Noel and Lucas, Iowa, he is survived by his wife Ann, who resides in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Michael (Melanie) Noel, who resides in Land O’ Lakes, Florida; Ryan (Amy) Noel, who resides in Milo, Iowa; Tag (Missy) Noel, who resides in Windsor Heights, Iowa; Tim Beauchamp, who resides in Ankeny, Iowa; and Kara Pernick, who resides in Correctionville, Iowa for his daughter.

Furthermore, he is survived by sixteen grandkids and seven great grandchildren, in addition to two brothers, Chuck (Sara) Noel of Mount Pleasant and Tom (Linda) Noel of New London, Iowa, and one sister-in-law, Paula (Dave) Potter of Sedona, Arizona, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Before he passed away, his parents, Claude and Lucille, had already passed away.

In accordance with Mike’s intentions, his remains will be cremated, and a Memorial Service will be performed at the First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.

Pastor Steve English will preside over the ceremony. It is the responsibility of the Henry County Honor Guard to perform the military rites. At a later time, the burial will take place.

At the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will be present to greet friends from five to seven o’clock in the evening, visitation will take place on Friday from one to seven o’clock. Flowers are not required; memorial contributions can be sent to the First Baptist Church, Help2Others, or Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice in lieu of receiving flowers.
