TYLER SABAPATHY OBITUARY, DEATH :TEMPLE UNIVERSITY MOURNS LOSS OF 18-YEAR-OLD TYLER SABAPATHY, FIRST-YEAR STUDENT AND CLUB GYMNASTICS TEAM MEMBER, WHO TRAGICALLY FELL TO HIS DEATH DURING PHILADELPHIA EAGLES’ NFC CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATIONS
A devastating incident occurred on Sunday night in Center City, Philadelphia, during celebrations of the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC Championship victory. Tyler Sabapathy, an 18-year-old first-year student at Temple University’s College of Public Health, tragically lost his life after falling from a high light pole at 15th and Market Streets.
The incident occurred shortly after the Eagles’ 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders, which secured their spot in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. Authorities confirmed that Sabapathy succumbed to injuries sustained from the fall.
Temple University officials expressed profound sorrow over Sabapathy’s untimely death. In a joint statement, Temple President John Frey and Vice President Jodi Bailey described the incident as “both tragic and traumatic,” acknowledging the deep sense of loss felt by the entire university community.
