Her untimely death has left a lasting void in the community, where she was not only a teacher but also a mentor, a friend, and a beloved figure to her students, colleagues, and their families.

In her honor, the Wake County Public School System will hold a memorial service to celebrate her life and contributions to education. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a scholarship fund supporting students pursuing a career in education, a cause Kari held dear to her heart.
