Joshua Lugg obituary, death: A Life of Joy, Passion, and Community

The Dickson County community is grieving the loss of 19-year-old Joshua Lugg, a student at Dickson County High School, who tragically died in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday. The accident occurred on Thompson Road when Lugg, driving a 2012 Nissan Titan, failed to navigate a curve, resulting in a head-on collision with a 2014 GMC Sierra driven by 47-year-old Randle Dotson.

Joshua Lugg was deeply cherished in his community, particularly for his involvement with the Dickson County High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter. He was known for his dedication and enthusiasm, participating in numerous FFA activities, including hog shows, competitions, and the annual State Convention. He was also recognized as a top fruit seller for the chapter.

The Dickson County FFA honored Lugg’s memory, describing him as a committed and hardworking member who consistently contributed to the chapter’s success. Tributes poured in from friends, family, and classmates, reflecting on Lugg’s positive spirit and dedication to his school and community.

Lugg’s obituary described him as a “good ole country boy” who loved outdoor activities and had a passion for working with International Harvester tractors. He also enjoyed fishing in peaceful waters, which brought him solace and joy. His family and friends remembered him for his warmth, kindness, and love for simple pleasures in life.

To commemorate Lugg’s life, visitation services are being held today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with additional visitation tomorrow from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. In a unique and heartfelt request, the family asked attendees to avoid wearing formal attire to the funeral. They also invited truck owners to form a long procession in Lugg’s honor.

The gesture underscores the community’s strong support and shared grief over the loss of a beloved young man. Lugg’s death has left a profound impact on Dickson County, with many reflecting on his contributions and the joy he brought to those around him. The high school and its FFA chapter continue to mourn his loss, but they also celebrate the legacy of a young man who left an indelible mark on his community.

As we remember Joshua Lugg, we honor his life, his passion, and his commitment to his community. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. Rest in peace, dear
