Dr. Mark L. Mirabello, a beloved history professor at Shawnee State University and a prolific author, has passed away, leaving behind an impressive body of work and a lasting intellectual legacy.

With a career spanning many years, Dr. Mirabello dedicated himself to the study of history from the fringes, examining the “outlaw” elements of human civilization and shedding light on the forgotten or obscure aspects of history and culture.

A passionate and engaging lecturer, Dr. Mirabello was known for his dynamic courses on subjects such as Alternative Religions and Cults, Secret Societies, Terrorism and Crime, Banned Books, Afterlife Concepts in World History, Fascist Europe and Nazi Germany, Myths and Legends, and Intellectual History. His deep knowledge, thought-provoking insights, and engaging teaching style made him a beloved figure among students and colleagues alike.

Beyond his teaching, Dr. Mirabello authored numerous influential books that captured the imaginations of readers across the world. His notable works include A Traveler’s Guide to the Afterlife: Traditions and Beliefs on Death, Dying, and What Lies Beyond, The Odin Brotherhood, The Crimes of Jehovah, The Cannibal Within, and Handbook for Rebels and Outlaws.
