TRAGEDY STRIKES CAMP LEJEUNE: Sailor Simba Wallace and Wife Natalie Castro Killed in Semi-Truck Collision – Investigation Underway

A devastating accident has claimed the lives of two beloved members of the United States Navy, Sailor Simba Wallace and his wife, Natalie Castro. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Duplin County, North Carolina, near the intersection of Ludie Brown Road and Willie Hatcher Road.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Wallace and Castro were traveling south on Willie Hatcher Road in their Jeep Wrangler when they failed to yield at the intersection and collided with a semi-truck carrying chickens. The semi-truck, heading west on Ludie Brown Road, overturned and came to a partial stop off the roadway, resulting in the tragic loss of both Wallace and Castro.

The couple, both assigned to Camp Lejeune, were pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was transported to ECU Health Duplin Hospital with minor injuries. An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
