Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Mourns the Loss of Tyler Mears, Owner of Mears Cards and More and Dedicated Community Member
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tyler Mears, a beloved member of the Latrobe community, owner of Mears Cards and More, and dedicated professional in the finance industry.
Tyler’s sister shared the news of his passing in a heartfelt statement, saying, “It’s with a shattered heart I write this post. My brother, Tyler, went to heaven way too young and with way too many possibilities left in life on Thursday.”
Tyler Mears was a multi-faceted individual who made a significant impact in various aspects of his life. As a professional, he was a Portfolio Accountant at BNY Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he utilized his expertise in business economics and financial analysis to drive success.
He held a BS in Business Economics from Saint Vincent College and studied Economics and Business at Colorado School of Mines.
Tyler’s career was marked by his adaptability, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to excellence. He transitioned from an Intermediate Representative to a Portfolio Accountant at BNY Mellon, managed operations at Santiago’s Restaurant in Frederick, Colorado, and coached at Greater Latrobe Senior High School. In addition, he was the proud owner of Mears Cards and More, a thriving sports and trading card store he launched in April 2023.
Tyler was deeply connected to his community and family, actively involved in charitable efforts, including volunteering for Meals on Wheels America from 2012 to 2015.
His family was essential to him, with strong bonds to his mother, Mary Ferlin Mears, and his sister, Hannah Mears.
