Howell, Michigan, Mourns the Loss of 12-Year-Old Dahlia Siders: A Vibrant Life Cut Short, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love, Laughter, and Adventure
The community of Howell, Michigan, is reeling in shock and grief as news spreads of the tragic passing of 12-year-old Dahlia Siders on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Dahlia’s life was a testament to her boundless energy, curiosity, and passion for life, which inspired countless individuals who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dahlia’s love for nature and animals was a source of illumination, and her fascination with narwhals and axolotls was particularly endearing. Her enthusiasm for sports was evident from a young age, and she was a dedicated member of the Howell Recreation Soccer team from the age of three.
She also began swimming at six months old and continued to compete for the Howell Middle School team and South Lyon Aquatics.
In addition to her athletic pursuits, Dahlia was a creative and curious individual who was part of Team KRASH, the middle school robotics team. She was also a proud member of the Girl Scouts for eight years, following in her sister’s footsteps.
Dahlia’s loved ones remember her as a kind-hearted, strong-spirited, and curious individual who brought immense joy and light into their lives. Her infectious giggles, love, and affection will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Community Farewell Service will be held on Monday, November 18th at 2/42 Community Center in Brighton, Michigan. The family invites anyone who loved Dahlia to attend and share their memories and experiences.
Donations in Dahlia’s memory can be made to the Plant Trees for Others – Arbor Day Foundation, which will help establish a lasting legacy that reflects her love for the natural world.
