TYLER COCHRAN OBITUARY, DEATH: AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATES FATAL SHOOTING OUTSIDE MICHELOBOS SPORTS BAR
Austin, TX – The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified the individuals involved in a fatal incident that occurred on November 1 in northeast Austin.
According to a press release from November 4, police reported that 30-year-old Tyler Cochran was shot and killed outside Michelobos Sports Bar, located at 900 E. Braker Lane, just before 1:45 a.m.
The incident began when a confrontation ensued between Cochran and 20-year-old Clayton Taitague. Taitague then shot Cochran, and a security guard at the nightclub, witnessing the altercation, shot Taitague in response.
When officers arrived, they found both Cochran and Taitague with injuries. Cochran was pronounced dead at approximately 2:05 a.m., while Taitague was transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.
Taitague remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition and is under arrest. He will face a first-degree murder charge upon his release from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing, and APD is encouraging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
