ERVIN BARTON DEATH: SPARKS RESIDENT DIES AFTER SHOOTING ON EL RANCHO DRIVE
Sparks, NV – The Washoe County coroner has identified 45-year-old Ervin Barton, a resident of Sparks, as the individual who succumbed to injuries following a shooting on El Rancho Drive late Saturday night. According to authorities, Barton was involved in a dispute with another man when gunfire erupted, and he was later pronounced dead at Renown Regional Medical Center.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night, with reports of multiple gunshots and screams coming from an apartment located at 1000 El Rancho Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male with gunshot wounds, and medical personnel provided aid at the scene. Despite efforts, Barton later died at the hospital from his injuries.
Sparks Police detectives determined that the shots were fired during an altercation between the two men. Although the second man involved left the scene, he contacted 911 to report the shooting and is now cooperating with investigators. No suspects are currently outstanding, and the Sparks Police Department is withholding the names of those involved and additional details regarding the incident.
