Thomas Steven Waicunas, Isabel Blanco Vasquez Jr Obituary, Death: Two Lives Lost in Separate Vehicle Accidents in Yuba City and Lincoln.

We regret to inform you that two individuals, Thomas Steven Waicunas Jr. and Isabel Blanco Vasquez, lost their lives in separate vehicle accidents in Yuba City and Lincoln. The Sutter County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified 72-year-old Thomas Steven Waicunas Jr. as the pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle in Yuba City on Monday evening.

Thomas Steven Waicunas Jr., who was reportedly homeless, was hit near the intersection of Bridge and Plumas streets around 8 p.m. Yuba City police have yet to provide further details on the incident. In a separate accident, the Placer County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified 26-year-old Isabel Blanco Vasquez as the woman who died early Tuesday when the car she was in overturned near Lincoln.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that Vasquez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle as it veered off the right shoulder and flipped over at approximately 1:20 a.m. The CHP did not provide information on her place of residence. The vehicle’s driver, 26-year-old William Bryan Cubias-Martinez from Marysville, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Once released, he will face charges in the Placer County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the CHP. A GoFundMe page created to cover funeral expenses identified the deceased woman as Isabel Vasquez Blanco, mentioning that she has family in Yuba City. Attempts to reach the page’s organizer for confirmation were unsuccessful as of press time.

The loss of Thomas Steven Waicunas Jr. and Isabel Blanco Vasquez has left their families and communities in mourning. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time. May they rest in peace.
