A tragic incident occurred in Ogden on Wednesday evening, resulting in the death of 63-year-old Sterling Kelso.
According to the Ogden Police Department, Kelso was fatally struck by a vehicle while working in a parking lot located near Washington Blvd. and 7th Street.
The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. as Kelso was cleaning the parking area of a car wash.
Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving Kelso pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
In a statement, the Ogden Police Department expressed their condolences to the family and all affected by the tragedy.
Family members identified the victim as Sterling Kelso, a man known for his love of eagles.
In an interview with FOX 13 News, Kelso’s daughter, Misty, shared memories of her father’s passion for eagles, saying, “He loves eagles — he’s an eagle man. He collects anything with eagles. He’s going to be flying with the eagles.”
